AWS Support technology and programs help you manage and monitor your environment to ensure performance and cost optimization, manage security and downtime risks, and automate remediation of issues to the extent possible.


Rationale:

Having Business Support or above provides additional enhanced technical support and architectural guidance. Business Support also provides access to third-party software support, documentation and forums, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS Personal Health Dashboard, AWS Support API, and launch and event planning.

Enabling Business support will help with

Default Value:

While creating the AWS account it by default enables the Basic support plan.


Pre-Requisite:

  • You must sign in with root user credentials to change your support plan.



Remediation:


Test Plan:

  1. Sign to AWS Management Console

  2. Navigate to support service by clicking on the support on the right corner

  3. Go to Support Center

  4. Check the Support plan on the left navigation pane
    BusinessIf you notice that the support plan is Basic, do follow the Implementation steps to change.


Implementation Steps:

  1. Sign to AWS Management Console

  2. Navigate to support service by clicking on the support on the right corner

  3. Go to Support Center

  4. Click on Change next to your current support plan in the left navigation pane

  5. By clicking on the change Support Plans page will be open, select change plan

    Note: You can view the feature comparison of AWS Support plans on this page.

  6. Select the Business or above plan


  7. Click on change plan


Backout Plan:

To revoke the changes or to switch the support plan do follow steps1-5 in the Implementation steps and step-6 select the plan you want to switch.


Note:

The business Support plan starts at $100 per month.
